Hi! My name is Karen. This may be an inconvenience but please understand that the LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, financial need; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. I am trying to find a resume person who can help us. I am a 36 year old self-supporting single mom and sole financial support of my two kids age 12 and 9. I need help to pay my gas, water and electric bill.I lost my job in August and still i am out of work. My smaller child is sick with asthma. And she will get sicker as it gets colder. I don’t know what to do. Water bill was $55, Gas $70 and now my electricity bill is around $31, (we are billed 6 times a year) bill (water, gas and electricity) averages $156. I can't understand how gas, electricity and water prices are going up so quickly and yet the official inflation rate doesn't reflect it. I live in a small town without a lot of programs.

Please help us to be able to stay in this house, so we can continue having a normal life again.

If you can not help in cash or you can help with Visa GiftCards , i can provide you my billing account number to payoff. i will appreciate to receive the heads up advice from you.

Please buy me a cup of coffee to quench my thirsty With PayPal you can send money using your checking account or credit card to neverdepartingfromthemosthigh@yahoo.com. Once you have a PayPal account set up, you can receive money or send someone else money via e-mail. It's simple, quick, and reliable!

My primary email address neverdepartingfromthemosthigh AT yahoo DOT com in paypal is an old email address that i always have access to, although it is the same email address I use to sign into my yahoo and paypal account with?

We're dying to release it too, but we're working hard to make it perfect before public launch. We're currently slowly expanding our beta user list, so if you've submitted your email to the list, you may have a shot at getting earlier access.

It's still a good idea to find ways to track your money now, so you can get the basics down. For a lot of people, Mint will compliment the way they track and manage their money.

So I'm dying to know... when does Mint release? I have no incentive to track my current expenses if in two weeks or a month I'll change the way I manage money!

@Moneymonk: I'm glad you like the post. You are indeed correct that there is no major secret to having a stable financial life.

@Dyphan: Hope you'll enjoy the upcoming articles. Great quote on sound financial lifestyle. I will add yours in shortly.

@Misti: Exactly! I have seen the contrasting difference myself too, when I went from worrying about bills and debt to... well, just not worrying about it. I am certainly not filthy rich or even moderately wealthy, but I have reach the point where I know I can handle my finances in accordance with my situation in life.

If increasing income isn't a practical solution for some people, reducing expenses and finding alternatives to expenses is definitely the next best thing. I still have a circa 1989 VCR in my room :) Who needs DVR when you have a stack of 20 SP/SLP VHS tape from Costco back in the days? Woot!

I completely agree with the reasons given for a sound financial lifestyle. Once I got our finances under control my husband and I have been more at peace. I really recommend always looking for ways to lower your bills and spending habits and saving more. Always think of ways to be happy and content doing things that don't cost money like making dinner at home and going for a walk instead of going out to see a movie and an expensive dinner. Also, think of ways to be content with what you have instead of going out and getting more. My family always trys to think of alternatives to what we want or need. We thought we really needed a DVR and realized that a good 'ol VCR was a much cheaper alternative, actually a free alternative, rather then adding on another monthly bill with a DVR.

I look forward to reading these articles on a sound financial lifestyle.

My personal take is that a sound financial lifestyle has elements of planning for the long term (retirement), intermediate (college, housing), and the short term (monthly expenses). Seeing money as a tool to live out a life that is joyful and not miserly pinching every penny for a bottom line (your networth).
