For grads and people early in their careers, a really helpful feature would be to be able to divide expenses. If my credit card bill has a $50 restaurant charge, I'd like to be able to say that the restaurant charge $50, but inside of that charge it was $25 income from a roommate, making it only $25 for that category.

Grads should also be concerned about who exactly is using their money. Since many parents pay for their kids, the kids can sometimes get careless with their spending caches. Unscrupulous roommates, bags dropped anywhere, and all that can lead to nasty unknown charges or even identity theft. Destroying junk credit offers, securing records, and establishing idfreezes and trustedids can help with that.

Great tips! Great article. Reminds me of when I moved out and got my first place. I didn't even turn on the gas until 3 months later because I was stressed about money. Luckily it was a hot summer. One expense I didn't think out too much was getting a pet! I couldn't wait for a dog when I moved out but I didn't realize how their expenses add up! He's still keeping me good company though, but those early times were tough. Keep up the great work!
