A warning on paying tuition or other school fees: Some schools charge processing fees if you pay by credit card. It sounds greedy, but it's really not, especially at public institutions that need to keep their tuitions and fees as low as possible. If they don't pass the credit processing fees to the students who are using credit cards, they're forced to spread the cost around to all students, even those who aren't using credit, which is unfair.

Please Folks, just read and understand. CHECK THE LAST RECOMMENDATION.

But, Buyer Beware
Your choices of places to use plastic might seem limitless, but that doesn’t mean you should just spontaneously yell, “Charge it!” anytime the mood strikes. “Remember, most people use credit cards to pay for something when they’re tight on money,” Clark says. “But then again, if you’re tight on money, you should probably ask yourself if you can truly afford it in the first place. Consider ‘sleeping on it’ until your next paycheck and reevaluating the purchase when you actually have funds in your account.”

The article suggests using the card when you would have otherwise paid cash. It doesn't say use the card to buy things you can't afford. For some items (medical expenses, loans) there may be additional paperwork for reimbursement, but you gain points on something that would have otherwise netted you no additional gain.

So, you're encouraging folks to do the ignorant thing of using credit cards to pay for items that should be in an insurance plan or worked out with a lender when building or modifying a home (home improvement loan)?

Great... nobody learns a single thing... just keep abusing credit and our lives as we know them will cease to exist.

Some banks allow you to make an initial deposit with a credit card when you open an account online. If the credit card company counts it as a purchase (rather than a cash advance), this can be a nice way to earn cash back rewards.
