Thanks for the comments, everyone. I tried the official Adobe app, but it does NOT let you fill out a PDF that wasn't specifically designed as a fillable form. And that describes many if not most of the PDF forms that I get stuck with. (It does let you sign any PDF.)

PDF Expert looks good but is also $10. Michael or anyone, if you can recommend a cheaper app that does what PDFpen can do, I'd be happy to hype it.

I'd like to mention that for the iPad, there is a new Adobe PDF Viewer app that is Free and can fill forms and signature. There's no need to spend $10!

I, too, have been filling out PDF forms electronically. I prefer to have a different signature for every form (same signature, it's still me, but it varies a small amount from time to time; makes it feel more official).

I now fill all my forms out with Adobe Acrobat then save it to Dropbox. Sign it on my iPad, flatten it (so they can't make changes), and email it.

Even if you don't have Acrobat, you can use PDF Expert on iPad (that's the best PDF app) to fill it out, sign, and send. That was one of the greatest purchases I've ever gotten.

Out of all the iOS options out there, you choose a $10 app? There are a large number, especially lately, of good PDF editing/annotating apps available on the app store at a variety of prices. At least mention that Adobe itself recently released its own official iOS Universal PDF app that allows you to fill in forms and sign PDF forms. It does not have as robust an annotation side, but it gets the job done for $10 less...
