Rochester, NY has a place called Cinemark Movies 10 – the movies are $1.75/ticket and only $.50 on family mondays.

Another cheap date trick is to plan a quick picnic for a local park.

You could also go camping for some cheap fun together. Or have a fire in your fireplace at home and “camp” on the living room floor while roasting marshmellows.

Haha I like some of these posters’ ideas. Another one for some areas (Raleigh, NC for instance) is to find a budget movie theater. Blue Ridge theater, around here, shows slightly older movies for $1.50 a person.

You can do everything in the park for free! Going for a swim at your apartment pool is also free. Walking around the mall is free (until you buy something)

Another fun thing to do when you’re dirt poor and dating, mini roadtrip. Drive some place you’ve never been to before and explore. Just, make sure you’re prepared. I’ve made the mistake of going hiking without a flash light and not getting back to the car before the sun went down. Yeah, not fun, especially that part when I repeatedly slipped on rocks and rolled my ankle… twice.

And with that, I’m off to go drop $20 on a movie date with the BF. woot!

While no longer cheap I suppose, if you’re able, a drive in the country can be fun too.
I think cooking is one of my favorites, nothing better than showing him/her your abilities. Plus with great bottles of $2-10 wine abundant, it can be fancy and cheap a the same time!
Making music is a favorite too: time to learn guitar, together!
