I was actually there for Katie Clark's Monday Spinach Rice Medley and was AMAZED at how good Trader Joe's frozen brown rice can really be! Some kitchen clean out projects can end in disaster but this one was clearly a success. An inspiring article for the day before payday indeed. :)

Simple but tasty. Boil any kind of pasta noodle and heat up a can of chili. When ready, put them together and add shredded cheese. Total cost in southern California is $3.29.

You could make the best pizza in town with a few simple ingredients and only about 10 minutes.

For simple pizza, buy as many pieces of pita or naan bread as you have guests. This will serve as a sort of pre-cooked pizza dough. Then just buy some delicious ingredients such as crushed tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, ham, garlic, or whatever you feel like. Bake at 400F until the cheese melts - about 5 minutes.
