		<description>The one thing I hate about cash for clunkers is that the government is redistributing wealth.  My girlfriend&#039;s clunker died last summer, and if this program was going on then, she would have a brand new car subsidized by $4,500 from the &quot;government&quot; aka the taxpayer.  The winners are the ones who are able to take advantage of this program, but where is the money coming from?  Everyone who isn&#039;t taking part in it.  How is that anything less than redistribution of wealth?

I find it sad that our government believes it is increasing the economic wealth of our country by taking money from citizens and giving it to citizens who buy new cars, while making it mandatory the clunkers be destroyed.  How does that increase the wealth?

Just some thoughts I&#039;ve had on this program.
