19 months into recession and it seems to me that we’re still light years from recovery. Granted, Bernanke and the big boys are saying the economy is getting better but it sure doesn’t feel that way on main street.

This all sounds good and kudos to Obama for his work. What the American consumer lacks however is proper financial education. That foundation is one of the biggest caveats in our society. Personal finance basics should be thought in school, because educated consumers are far less likely to make bad choices when they know what their actions will lead to. Currently most young people are unaware of the consequences which irresponsible money borrowing can bring.
