Mint users nationwide spend an average of $177 a month fueling up their cars between six visits to the pump, but there’s a lot of variation when you look at the data on a city-by-city level. Dollar for dollar, Silicon Valley Minters have the biggest monthly gas bill, while our subway-loving New York City Minters spend the least per month. More surprising is who’s in the No. 2 spot – a place known for its exceptionally low cost of living, but perhaps not the most Prius-friendly market.
