leave a commentI find this post humorous after praising the Federal Reserve, considering it enables this ridiculous amount of government spending.

Thanks for breaking down just how big a trillion dollar budget is. Question: have you been working on this graphic for 21 years? No, but seriously, I’ve been trying for decades to wrap my head around the budgets of the Reagan administration to no avail. Until today. Great work!
I don’t think the point of this graphic is to represent Reagans 825 billion dollar budget, with a 250 billion dollar deficit. It is to demonstrate the obsurdity of a 10 trillion dollar (ten times that) unfunded porkulus bill.
The wall street journal has a nice graphic displaying the trend of budget deficits since 1980, with an estimated 1.75 trillion dollar estimated DEFICIT in 2009.
Thanks alot Obama.

Great motion graphics – spoiled by horrible amateur voice over. Bummer.
Give me a break, people just love to be snarky on the internet don’t they? The voice-over is fine. What, would you rather have Morgan Freeman do it? This guy sounds like someone I could relate to, not some disembodied voice from the heavens. Honestly, it’s refreshing in my opinion, and fits fine with the context of the video.
I think Jonathan is missing the point, this video wasn’t put together to win any awards. It was put together to convey a message. In my opinion, the message was conveyed well. Thanks guys!
I agree with you Erik, but I think Jonathan was just kidding!
I agree the voice was a little off, but it’s the visuals more than make up for it. that’s an insane amount of cash.
THAT’S OVER 9 THOUSAND!!!
Thanks for the amazing infographic! Liked the southern voice and music.
why the hell does some of the text splash for a split second, i had to keep pausing it and it was stupid. other than that it was good. i didnt have the sounds on though.
ah much better with sounds but the text is still nice if you dont have sound
“budgets of the Reagan administration”
Puleze. Obama has spent more in 6 months than Regan did in 8 years.
Go back to school.
“Go back to school.” Give me a break. Reagan’s administration had costs that greatly exceeded fiscal metrics.
Go back to thinking the well-being of our country can be quantified by the vague metrics Reagan favored. And have fun
IT’S OVER 9 THOUSAAAAAND!!!!
The current bailout is not 10 trillion dollars as the video says. The makers of this video may have been attempting to reference the current national debt which is roughly 11.6 trillion dollars.
Check your facts and your math before posting a video unless you’re purposely trying to mislead people.
Southern Voice.. er.. ha!
Nice work (again) guys. And way to be featured on foxnews !!
Yes! This is important! Recognize that a trillion dollars could pay rent for EVERYBODY for three years. TIMES X TRILLION 13? 30? So, they bailout could pay house payment for EVERYBODY for up to 30 YEARS? With our money.
Put THAT on your biscuits and eat it with your gravy.
That will not, in any way, help our economy in the long run. Conservatives run the country in the short run, that’s why we needed a one trillion dollar bailout in the first place.
I liked that ad but man, you need to slow it down a bit so I can read some of the actual headlines in it
It was a good video, the voice was fine and the motion graphics were fine. You guys complaining about the video details need to shut it.
i found the vid a bit short and too fast, i have to watch it like 10 time to have all the amount of information sink in.
WHAT NINE THOUSAND?
Great video – funny how seeing all the zeros brings it back into reality. We here the number so often we become immune to the sheer enormity of the number!
Mint.com commenters = Youtube commenters? Well! Who’d have thunk it?
Or is this just a reflection of the amount of traffic coming from Digg? That’s probably what it is.
How can you say that $1,000,000,000,000 is just 1/10 of the current bailout?
That is absurdly wrong.
It makes me assume that nothing on this site is worth very much when you make stupid absurd calims!!
What should it be? That figure appears a lot.

What program is needed to make that kind of animation?
None of you lame-brain “fuk-tards” that saw this get it…… do you?
Who cares what the voice sounds like, or what the graphics look like?
“smooth mouth” Obama is sailing you ALL down the river.
TRILLION…TIMES …TWELVE….
12,000,000,000,000 thats about $35,000 that EACH OF YOU OWE.
That is what you OWE, your kids will still OWE, their kids…and so on…for a TRILLION YEARS.
Or…just like on other dumbA comment blogs…do not forget to blame Bush…
HELLO!!!!!
Blame Yourselves….for being like a dumb sheep……bahhh…bahhhh…..bahhhhh
Great video! I saw it on a link from Facebook. Now I just need to start working on my first trillion
This is really scary for all of the your professionals just graduating college, especially if they have a lot of college or graduate school debt. This constant borrowing will eventually catch up to one generation or another!
Yah, it will ‘catch up’. But not to America. It will catch up to the world. Only solution to a 12 trillion dollar debt, which will eventually lead to the collapse of the dollar, will be a 1-world government backed currency. When America goes down, everyone else will to. And what better time to implement such a system.
