Relations between the former Soviet Union and the United States thawed a long time ago and we no longer live in fear of mutually assured destruction. But Russia remains an economic powerhouse and a major player on the world stage. Russia has a rich cultural history and a sometimes brutal military legacy and for most Americans, it remains the “undiscovered” country. Russia’s economy has been in a state of flux since before the Bolshevik revolution but it is interesting to note how the differences in geography, population, and the role of the military ultimately play into the entire economic relationship. A country with that many Grandmasters can’t be counted out.

russia does not have more nukes than the U.S
Russia does have more nukes, since second half of cold war.
it does, usa hat more strategic nukes, with most talked about, but there are also taktical nukes, witch can be simply fire from a tank for example. alltogether it has more. but quantatiy of nukes doesn’t matter, it oly one country fire only half of its nukes, all the mankind will die.
that is not true. that is a false statement we have been making the same amount of nukes.
What kind of comparison is this? “English speakers”.. Obviously the US would have more english speakers than Russia.. if they didn’t I’d say something was terribly wrong, considering that English (American; still English) is their national language while the national language of Russia is Russian(doh) ._.’
Wouldn’t it make more sense to compare people who speak a second-hand language?
The United States does not have a national language any more than it has a national religion. Most Americans speak English as a first language, but nothing mandates this.
I think this shows how difficult the US situation is and also shows that Russia has huge potential. Very interesting.
dude for one thing russia has about 3 times as many nukes than the US and another mane advantage is that every single man in russia has been trained to use a gun and stuff. so even though they have a smaller army thay still have more solders. and FYI the facts on this thing are BS russia has got the worlds largest airforce and second largest navy.
this “erik” guy has obvisiosly had his head stuffed full of this russian sterotype that says all russians are mafia related crazy american haters that love the motherland. many russians are stuck in cities. that means there is almost no room to practice their gun handleing. many russians in fact love American people. since Russia is so freaking cold and its democracy still has left over communist ideals in its government many russians love the American country. i doubt even a forth of russia would come to arms if the US got into a war with russia.

I think Russia has the capability of doing some serious damage to the U.S. . A lot of people think Russia is outdated concerning nearly every aspect of it’s existence but I don’ think so. They have a very strong military and they are an energy power house with a lot of natural resources. Last year they sent military ships into the United States waters so they have the capability of reaching us by sea. And many prophecies state that the next WW will be Russia in conjunction with China and a host of other countries destroying the U.S. as the U.S. is in the midst of a new civil war.
Plus we’re not trying to fight Russia head on we’re trying to fight them tactfully through I guess what could be considered a new cold war in the near future.
I think the U.S. feeds us this almighty propoganda that it’s the most powerful country in the world . I’m not sure how true that is anymore.
US is still the most powerful country both in economics and military. US will continue to dominate every nation other than China. Russia is too corrupt to emerge as an economic power and the political situation is not nearly as stable meaning foreign investment will be limited to harvesting natural resources at best. Russia has a strong military history and well trained troops – but not on the same level as the US or Britain. American equipment & training are superior.
The American military is much more powerful than the Russian and this is coming from A RUSSIAN who moved to America…In fact I know that if it came to a world war between Russia and the U.S. many Russian peopel would be scared shitless I’m sorry to say but the U.S. is THE most powerful country in the wolrd and it doesnt seem this will change any time soon
