Working from home is indeed quite hard, I found these suggestions very helpful.
For me the guilt thing is always a problem when I’m over running a project.

Love it! My wife will begin working from home soon, and it will allow her flexibility as well! She’ll be able to work for that job, plus she’ll be able to kick off her photography business on the side. Some people in the corporate world just don’t get it. They think we sit home all day watching TV and raiding the refrigerator. Sure, we take time off during the day, and maybe our hours aren’t 8-5 Monday-Friday, but many of us work the same amount of hours as someone in a corporate office. We just do it a little differently…in the comfort of our own homes, on our own time. Your tip about finding a place where you’re focused and creative, is perfect. Just don’t let it be near the refrigerator (or Doritos) if possible!

It’s important to remember that ‘W@H’ does not necessarily equate with ‘flexibility’. Though I W@H, I am part of a team and a corporation; I have set office hours and don’t have the luxury, if you’ll forgive the word choice, of taking off to do grocery shopping or take in a matinee.

Big agreement with all the rest, particularly the need for social connections to counteract the paralyzing isolation.

The biggest problem I had with working from home was drawing the line of working hours. When i was at the office it would hit ~5PM, I would put that laptop away, head home and not open it again till the next day.

Working from home was completely different, I would end up working till late night just because I didn’t have that separation between an office and home.
