I'd like to join in the suggestions for a calendar view. I've been using Quicken for years and the calendar view is the most important part of that program (for me). It will show me what bills are coming up, and how much money will be left after they're paid.

When can we expect to see this re-design? I was under the impression it would be rolled out by now.

This is far from a redesign. Putting a new image on the front page does not mean a redesign. Post news when there is actually something to post.

I try to use mint, but several of my accounts don't want to load. The id's and passwords work fine on the accounts website, but dont work through mint. Has become frustrating enough that I stopped using mint.

First I want to congratulate mint on a very nice functional product. It definitely speaks to many people who weren't use to managing their money with a financial application. I have many times promoted MS Money or Quicken, but many people I promoted to did not like it; however when I started pushing Mint to them about a year ago, they loved it; especially the email updates. I myself have not used Mint as I'd like, because I am still waiting for Custom Categories. It is very difficult to get an accurate picture of my money when I have to remember classifications of my transactions in categories that have no relation or simply mark as No Category. I will continue to wait, because I believe that is the only true functionality that remains in the application. Great product. -Ian

Great site, lots of neat features, but I still need custom categories and the ability to manually add transactions!! Would also be neat to be able to schedule recurring transactions.

Sorry, I have an incomplete sentence there.

"Even on this very blog post the horrid green gradient at the top doesn’t match the green."

This design and your last design are both terrible. The UX of the app is pretty decent but the visible design is awful.

None of your greens match. None. Find a single green and some slight variances for texture and stick to it. Pick a contrasting color for pete's sake. Even on this very blog post the horrid green gradient at the top doesn't match the green.

Get some consistent spacing. Things seem to be strewn about at random.

I know you guys like gradients but holy cow turn the dial down a few notches. The features pages are the worst. Every single thing on that page has a shadow. And not just any shadow, a 15 pixel offset 25 pixel large shadow, complete with inconsistent light sources. A design tip : If you make everything stand out, nothing will. Pick some things that you deem important and put emphasis on those. Not every single element on the page needs a drop shadow, it conflicts and it's a mess. Even your gradients have gradients-- and did you guys use the airbrush to hand-make the background glow gradient? Yikes. If you're going for splotchy and distracting you nailed it.

I'm only taking the time to provide this feedback because I enjoy the product. I like the functionality, I just wish it was designed better.

I love mint, and as a designer, I definitely don't mind Mint's overall look and feel. However, after my initial "oooh's and ahhh's" at the new home page, I have a few constructive criticisms.

I understand the cool and refreshing look you are going for, but I second some of the above comments -- the contrast is just too low. I am a huge fan of subtlety and small type, and yet even I find some of it hard to read. I can't imagine the bulk of your potential users out there sticking around with a home page where it's hard to tell content from the background.

Type -- You have a lot of good ideas going on. Yet there are a lot of conflicting type choices. I lost track trying to count how many fonts you guys are using. I thought the rule of thumb was 2, maybe 3, distinctly contrasting/complementary fonts. But there are multiple serifs, sans-serifs, and even some scripts floating around. It's all jumbled... can't you streamline it a bit?

And the shiny chart is shiny.. and pretty... but usability-wise, does it do anything? What about focusing on color choices of the wedges instead? Color categorizing across the entire interface would be super cool, instead of the random colors generated by the pie graph as it is now.

Overall, amazing work.. these "complaints" are merely aesthetic.. but it'd be super spiffy to see some of them discussed.

Great job guys!
