New iPhone app! Passcode, Editing, and More!

Many of us at Mint are iPhone users so we’re as excited about our new iPhone app as we hope you’ll be. Keeping things simple is especially important on a mobile device so rather than cram in 100s of new features just to tick the boxes, we focused instead on delivering the most requested features from you, our users.

Enhanced Security

iphone-5

While you could always lock your device with the device passcode, we heard from users that wanted to specifically safeguard the Mint.com app with its own four-digit passcode. Now you can. Hand your phone to someone else and they’ll be locked out of the app. And if someone tries to hack it, after five attempts, we’ll reset your account and delete all of your personal information. If your phone is lost, stolen or misplaced, you can deactivate iPhone access.

Editable Transactions

edit

We’re continuing to improve the Mint.com iPhone app to make it even more useful while you are on the go. You can now edit essential transaction details such as category, tag, description, note and date.

Real-time Notifications

iphone-3

The Mint.com iPhone app now takes full advantage of the notification technology in iPhone OS 3.0. In addition to getting notifications via email or SMS, you can now have them “pushed” directly to your device. It’s faster and it saves you money. Notifications for when you’ve gone over budget, receive fees or experience other unusual activity are delivered securely, right when they happen.

Update your iPhone app and take advantage of the new features today.

For some reasons I cannot install the latest version on my iphone 3GS OS3.1. The icon did not show up on my iphone. I tried many times.

  2. Is there a Blackberry APP for Mint?

  3. skyler

what about an app for the G3 Google phone? is it coming?

  4. Justin

    Android app please.

      Second the Android request.

    • Third that! IPhone era is passed!

    • Holden

      Android app please!

(You know how many handsets are coming out in the coming months that run Android?)

    • pankit

      one more android request….

    • Holden

      Ditto! Android, please!

(Seriously, look towards the future folks, and you can pacify us by saying you’re working on one — how about a Christmas present?)

  5. When are we going to get an app for the Palm Pre?

  6. Walter

Heh heh – keeping reaching for that Google app with one hand and a rainbow with the other! If you wanted apps – you should have bought an iPhone.

    • careful what you say… you might end up eating your words because your phone keeps dropping your calls.

  7. Seriina

    Android App please!!!

    • Yes, Andriod App should be on the list right next to iPhone and Blackberry APPs for Mint!!

  8. I’m surprised you don’t have a BlackBerry app. There are many more users of BlackBerries than there are iPhones in the U.S.

  9. +1 for Android… and you guys need to fix the incompatibilities with Key Bank, TDAmeritrade, and Bank of America

  10. Need to be able to drill down into the “Everything Else” section of the budget like the other sections…right now it won’t let me look to see any of the details on the items I hadn’t budgeted for…not really helping much…

Outside of that the new changes are awesome!

  11. Mint.com Personal Finance shows up in the iTunes store, but when I try to install it, my phone tell me “The item you tried to buy is no longer available”.

What gives? Do I have to switch over to Quicken Mobile now?

  12. i can’t get this app after i updated my iphone. i’m soooo mad! now it won’t work on my phone.

  13. Trying to download from the app store, I get a message indicating that “The item you tried to buy is no longer available.”

  14. I wish that the iPhone App had an option to Hide an account from Cash Flow.

On my Mint.com account I currently have a shared checking account set to “Hide from Planning and Trends” but this doesn’t Hide it from the Cash Flow column on the iPhone App.

The only way that I have found to get that bank account to not show up is but setting it to “Hide from All of Mint.” I don’t want to have to do this.

To me, it would make a lot of sense to have a Hide option on each account in the iPhone App. Or better yet, have a Cash Flow column on Mint.com and give users the option to hide accounts from it their setting.

    Any thoughts??

  15. please make a blackberry app

  16. I would like to put in another vote for an Android app!

  17. pwiles

what about an app 4 blackberry?? its a much more practical phone for such an app because its more buisness oriented while the iPhone is more of a bored teenagers toy

  18. When does the Android app come out? PLEASE!

  19. Lizeth

One more request for an Android App please

  20. Does anyone else have major bugs/issues with this version? I have to login almost every time I open this app even if I set the passcode. It is never remembered. I also start to type my login info and it is all wiped out about a second after I start typing.

The version before this was great. This version, not so great.

  21. Please we need an Android App…Don’t leave us in the cold!

  22. blackberry app please!!!!

  23. how can i add an account that is a loan but cannot be accessed on the internet.

  24. It’s really disappointing that there isn’t a Blackberry app, there are more of us than iPhone users, and Blackberry is compatable on more networks than just one. You’d get a lot more loyalty if you’d develop a Blackberry app than if you just keep updating your iPhone app.

  25. an android app would be awesome

  26. kind of buggy but friggin awesome

  27. brian morse

The “Update your iPhone app ” link above is dead.

  28. Rachel

Are any of the features usable when you don’t have 3G or Edge?

  29. Palm Pre app!!!! You would be the first and get millions of downloads!

  30. I’ve been using the iPhone app and would love to see this on Android soon!

  31. chicagoandy

    Seriously, where’s the Android app!

  32. Josh Childress

Dylan, Agreed. After the first release of “Mint” iPhone apps about year ago and we outcried and asked for Blackberry Apps. Now year later, they still updating the iPhone apps. Now where they have been for a year that has “NOT DEVELOPING” the Blackberry apps???? How pathetic they are because they should have known there is higher percentage of the Blackberry users over the iPhone users! If they released the Blackberry apps version.. Sure it will be OFF THE CHART than they expected!

  33. Donnie

So does this mean that an Android app is in the works? Do you need beta testers?

  34. ArtInvent

Of course your phone has a web browser. Why is an app for each phone OS necessary? That’s what so great about web apps. All you need is a browser.

  35. Mrs Newman

    Phenomenal! Love it!

  36. Android app please

  37. Another vote for Android. The number of Android phones is about to skyrocket in the next couple months and Mint needs to set itself up to take advantage of that! Please…

  38. there are over 50 android phones coming out next year. With iphone only consuming a fraction of the market, its presumable that there will be a app for android and BB???

If so, can you post a reply on whether or not you will provide an App for BB and Android. As you can see, this is becoming a common request.

  39. One more for the heap of Android requests.

  40. What about windows mobile?

  41. Justin

Yeah, i’d use this WAY more if it were on an Android app :)

  42. Another vote for an Android app!
